What is Evo 2021 Online? Direct link to this section

Since its inception in 1996, the tournament now known as Evo (evolution championship series) has been highly anticipated every year by competitors around the globe, becoming the world’s longest-running fighting game event. This year, Evo 2021 Online is still the Evo everyone has come to know and love, even if it isn’t taking place live and in person. Players will get to gather with friends, foes, and new competitors - but this time, from the comfort of their own homes. Evo 2021 Online will be holding tournaments, exhibitions, and more across a variety of games allowing players to show off their competitive fighting skills.

When is Evo 2021 Online? Direct link to this section

The main Evo 2021 Online event takes place August 6 - 8 and 13 -15. Other Evo related events will be taking place throughout the summer, beginning in June.

Who is in charge of Evo 2021 Online? Direct link to this section

Evo is under new leadership through the partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment and RTS. Our collective team is focused on preserving the authenticity of Evo for the fighting game community and finding creative ways, alongside our fans, to grow the tournament and make its events and broadcasts more fun, engaging and accessible than ever. Tony and Tom Cannon, co-founders of Evo, remain very much involved.

Why is Evo only online this year given CDC lifting restrictions on in-person events? Direct link to this section

Evo is committed to the health and safety of our fighters and with that in mind, we are providing a virtual, online experience for all players to do what they do best: compete, take names and bust brackets

We’re an open tournament and invite dozens of games, publishers and multiple platform holders to participate in Evo every year. We’re very hopeful that all invited games and platforms will participate, and plan to have multiple games on multiple platforms.

A detailed schedule will be released a few weeks before Evo 2021 Online. Tournaments will run from Friday through Sunday. Most games will start at 10am Friday, so be ready!

Evo 2021 Online is an open tournament, all eligible players can register without having to qualify.

Yes. Evo 2021 Online will be giving out more than $75,000 in total prizing. More detailed information on prizing to come!
